From late November until the end of March, Lapland transforms into a breathtaking winter wonderland, where nature creates a magical world straight out of a fairytale.
Endless snow-covered forests, trees dressed in thick layers of snow, the mesmerizing Northern Lights dancing across the Arctic sky, and the peaceful silence of untouched wilderness make this place truly unforgettable.
Winter in Lapland is also the time to experience the mysterious Polar Night, when the sun barely rises above the horizon or doesn’t rise at all, painting the sky in beautiful shades of blue, pink, and purple.
It’s a season full of unforgettable adventures – from husky and reindeer safaris to snowmobile rides, exploring frozen landscapes, and chasing the magical Northern Lights.
🌡️And yes, it gets COLD! Temperatures can occasionally drop as low as -40°C, but don’t let that scare you! The extreme Arctic cold is part of what makes Lapland so unique and magical. With the right clothing, even the coldest days can become some of your most memorable experiences.

Join a private Northern Lights tour in Levi and experience the magic of the Aurora Borealis in Finnish Lapland with Lappiland. We monitor weather and solar activity to maximize your chances of seeing the Northern Lights.
Why Choose Our Northern Lights Tour in Levi?
We are Northern Lights enthusiasts, and we love sharing our passion, experiences and stories with our guests.
We travel in just one van, with a maximum of 8 guests. This keeps our tours personal and relaxed, giving us the freedom to change locations, follow the best conditions and make the most of every Arctic night.
We check real-time weather forecasts and cloud maps to find clear skies. If Levi is cloudy, we drive where the sky is clear and without light pollution. This significantly increases your chances of seeing the Aurora Borealis.

Best Time to See Northern Lights in Levi

To see the Aurora Borealis, you need:

Unlike stationary Northern Lights tours, we operate as an active aurora hunting experience. Depending on the weather conditions, we may drive towards Muonio, Sodankyla or even Kolari towards the Swedish border or Kilpisjarvi towards the Norwegian border if skies are clearer there.
Our goal is simple: maximize your chances of seeing the Northern Lights.
With unlimited time, kilometers and one dedicated vehicle, we can quickly adapt to changing conditions and avoid cloud coverage to reach the clear sky on time.
What Makes Our Aurora Tour Different?
Many Northern Lights tours are stationary camp-style experiences. Guests are taken to one fixed location and wait for the Aurora to appear.
Our approach is different.
We operate a mobile Aurora hunting tour with one van and a maximum of 8 guests. Instead of waiting in one place, we actively search for clear skies. If clouds move in, we move too.
We prioritize:
– Flexibility
– Real-time weather analysis
– Maximum Aurora visibility
– Small group experience
If the Northern Lights appear early and strong, we focus fully on photography and viewing instead of stopping for a campfire. Our goal is simple: give you the best possible chance to see and capture the Aurora.
