LAPPILAND OY – TERMS & CONDITIONS

Effective Date: August 2026

1. BOOKING AND PAYMENT

By making a booking with Lappiland Oy, the customer accepts these Terms & Conditions and the conditions applicable to the selected experience.
A booking is confirmed once the required payment has been successfully completed and a booking confirmation has been issued.
The customer is responsible for providing accurate contact information, including a valid email address and telephone number.

2. CUSTOMER CANCELLATIONS

Unless otherwise stated for a specific experience, cancellations made at least 72 hours before the scheduled start of the experience are eligible for a full refund.
Cancellations made less than 72 hours before the scheduled start are non-refundable.
No-shows are non-refundable.
Requests to change the booking date must be made at least 72 hours before the scheduled start and are subject to availability.
Certain experiences operated by third-party partners may be subject to different cancellation conditions. Where different conditions apply, they will be communicated as part of the relevant experience or booking conditions.

3. CANCELLATION OR CHANGES BY LAPPILAND

Lappiland reserves the right to modify, reschedule or cancel an experience due to unsafe weather or road conditions, insufficient snow, technical or operational reasons, safety concerns, instructions from authorities, or other circumstances that may prevent the experience from being operated safely or reasonably.
If LappiLand cancels an experience and a suitable alternative cannot be agreed, the customer will receive a full refund for the cancelled experience.
Changes to routes, locations, departure times or the reasonable duration of an experience caused by weather, road, snow or safety conditions do not in themselves constitute a cancellation.

4. NORTHERN LIGHTS EXPERIENCES

The Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon. Their visibility, intensity, colour and duration cannot be predicted or guaranteed.
Northern Lights experiences do not follow a fixed route. Locations and routes may be selected or changed according to weather, cloud cover, road conditions, Aurora activity and other relevant conditions.
Departure and return times may vary. The exact pickup time may be confirmed on the day of the experience.

5. LAPPILAND AURORA GUARANTEE

For Northern Lights experiences covered by the Lappiland Aurora Guarantee, a successful Aurora experience means that during the tour our guide is able to capture a professional photograph of the guest(s) with the Northern Lights visibly present in the photograph.
If we are unable to capture such a photograph during the experience, the customer may choose either:
• to reschedule the Northern Lights experience to another available date; or
• to receive a full refund of the eligible Northern Lights experience.
Rescheduling is subject to availability.
The guarantee relates specifically to the Aurora conditions experienced during the tour and the photographs captured by the Lappiland guide. The appearance of the Northern Lights in photographs may differ from how they appear to the human eye.
The guarantee does not mean that any particular Aurora intensity, colour, shape or duration is guaranteed.

6. PICKUP AND TRANSPORT

Where pickup and return are included, they are available only from the areas specified for the selected experience.
Customers must provide accurate accommodation or pickup information when booking.
The approximate departure time shown during booking may change according to conditions. Where applicable, the final pickup time will be communicated by SMS or other contact method before departure.
Customers are responsible for being ready at the agreed pickup location at the confirmed time. A missed pickup caused by the customer being absent or providing incorrect information may be treated as a no-show.

7. DURATION AND ITINERARY

Times and durations shown for experiences are approximate unless explicitly stated otherwise.
Northern Lights experiences in particular may take longer than the estimated duration depending on weather, driving conditions, Aurora activity and the locations visited.
LappiLand may adjust the itinerary, route, locations or duration where reasonably necessary for safety, weather, operational conditions or to provide the best possible experience.

8. CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITIES AND SAFETY

Customers are responsible for wearing clothing and footwear appropriate for Arctic weather conditions.
Customers must follow reasonable safety instructions provided by guides and experience operators.
Customers must inform Lappiland before booking, or as soon as reasonably possible, of any mobility limitations, medical conditions, pregnancy, disabilities or other circumstances that may affect their ability to participate safely in the selected experience. Customers are responsible for determining whether an experience is suitable for them and should seek appropriate medical advice where necessary.
Participation may be refused where a customer is under the influence of alcohol or drugs or where their behaviour creates a safety risk to themselves, other guests, guides, animals or property.

9. HUSKY AND REINDEER EXPERIENCES

Some husky and reindeer experiences offered through Lappiland are operated by independent local partner companies.
Routes, durations and programme details may be adjusted by the operator because of weather, snow, trail conditions, animal welfare or safety considerations.
Animal welfare and safety take priority over completing a specific route or distance.
Husky sledding is a physical activity and requires a reasonable level of physical fitness. Guests must inform LappiLand in advance of any circumstances that may affect their safe participation. For safety and animal welfare reasons, the operator may modify the route, programme or participation arrangements according to weather, snow and trail conditions. For Wild Kemijoki Husky experiences, the operational frost limit is -32°C. If the experience cannot operate due to this limit, customers will be offered an alternative date where possible or a full refund.
Guests participating in husky experiences must wear suitable Arctic winter clothing and footwear. Winter overalls and boots are not provided by the husky operator unless specifically stated otherwise for the booked experience.
Guests aged 14 and over may be permitted to drive a husky sled with parental or guardian consent, subject to conditions and the guide’s final safety assessment on site.
Partner-operated experiences may be subject to additional or different booking and cancellation conditions. Where applicable, these conditions will be communicated in connection with the relevant experience.

10. PHOTOGRAPHY

Where professional photography is included in an experience, photographs are selected and edited by Lappiland.
The number of photographs and estimated delivery time may vary according to the experience booked.
Unless separately agreed, photography services do not guarantee any particular pose, composition, weather condition, Aurora intensity or photographic result.

11. FORCE MAJEURE

LappiLand is not responsible for failure or delay in providing an experience where this results from circumstances reasonably beyond our control, including extreme weather, road closures, natural events, official restrictions or other comparable circumstances.
Where such circumstances affect an experience, Lappiland will make reasonable efforts to offer an alternative arrangement where possible.
